Another fan stated that it was more clear why the Serb would not be as loved as his rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Novak Djokovic will also compete in the singles event at Brisbane International 2025
Like Nick Kyrgios, Novak Djokovic will also compete in the singles competition at the Brisbane International. It will be his first appearance at the ATP 250 event.
“I’m excited to be kicking off my Australian swing at the Brisbane International and to compete again at Pat Rafter Arena. I am looking forward to experiencing the incredible support from the Australian fans and making this tournament one to remember," the Serb said, as quoted by the Brisbane International's official website.
Other players who will join Djokovic and Kyrgios in Brisbane include Grigor Dimitrov, Holger Rune, Frances Tiafoe, and Sebastian Korda. The tournament will start on December 29.
The last time Djokovic competed at an ATP 250 event in Australia was the Adelaide International 1, which he won after edging out Sebastian Korda 6-7(8), 7-6(3), 6-4 in the final. Last year, the 37-year-old did not compete in any individual tournament down under apart from the Australian Open. However, he did compete in the United Cup where Serbia reached the quarterfinals before losing to Australia.
Djokovic's 2024 season came to an end with 37 wins out of 46 matches, most notably, winning the Olympic gold.
