PICTURE: Coco Gauff proudly captures younger brother Cameron at his 'first band concert'; supports his 'uncommon' football and musical interests
Coco Gauff recently exuded pride in her younger brother, Cameron Gauff, for participating in his first band concert. The tennis player wrapped up her 2024 year after competing in the WTA Finals.
Gauff had an incredible 2024 year, as her last tournament ended with her dominant victory. She bested some of the top-notch players, such as Jessica Pegula, Iga Swiatek, and Aryna Sabalenka, to reach the finals, where she squared off against Zheng Qinwen. The American dominated the finals with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(2).
Not just this tournament, the 20-year-old also delivered staunch performances in various others, such as the Wuhan Open, where she reached the semifinals, and the China Open, where she again nabbed the title by defeating Karolina Muchova. The player is currently in her off-season, and while she is enjoying her downtime, her brother, Cameron Gauff, is shining under the limelight as he recently was a part of a band concert.
Exuding pride in him, Coco Gauff shared a picture of Cameron in her Instagram story, where he was seen holding a trumpet while wearing an all-black outfit. She also emphasized the uncommon combination of him being a quarterback and a band member and wrote:
"Qb1 and band member lol not a common duo🤣His first band concert!"
Coco Gauff consoled Cameron Gauff after his AYFL Super Bowl loss
Coco Gauff is not the only sportsperson in the Gauff family; her younger brother, Cameron Gauff, is inclined toward football. In November 2024, he and his team, Delray Rocks 10U, competed in the 2024 AYFL Super Bowl. However, his team was bested by the Miramar Wolverines with a score of 22-0.
Following this loss, Cameron gave a very thoughtful interview saying:
"It wasn’t the result that we wanted but we’re going to have live another day and deal with it," Cameron said. "To just try as hard as you can and play as a family. I saw everybody getting down so I wanted to be the person to bring everybody up and just keep trying. It’s okay guys and we just need to live another day."
He added:
"I learned that you just need to keep trying. What I’ll learn from this is you shouldn’t quit. You just need to keep playing and if the outcome is not what you wanted, just keep working harder and go back on the field."
Gauff, impressed with her brother's interview, reshared a clip from the interview on social media and highlighted his team's win straight three years, ahead of this match. She wrote in her Instagram story:
"Aw my little brother I'm so proud of him and of everyone on that team. ya'll get them next time! 3 seasons in a row undefeated and only one loss in 4 seasons. so impressive! only up from here @camerongauff @delray_rocks_10u," Gauff said.
Coco Gauff has two siblings, Cameron Gauff and Codey Gauff, who is pursuing a career in baseball.
