Frances Tiafoe was born to Frances Sr. and Alphina and has a twin brother named Franklin. His parents are originally from Sierra Leone and they immigrated to the United States in the 1990s to escape the devastating civil war in their home country

After arriving in the USA, Constant worked in the construction department of the Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC) in College Park, MD, and later served as the head of maintenance at the facility. Because of Constant's work at JTCC, both the former World No.10 and his brother, Franklin were introduced to tennis at a young age and he helped them nurture the sport.

Recently, Frances Tiafoe and his family did an interview with Yonex Tennis, his tennis equipment sponsor. In the video, his father, Constant, reminisced about playing tennis with Tiafoe when he was younger.

However, Constant revealed that he stopped playing with him when Tiafoe was just nine years old because he had become so skilled that Constant could no longer compete with him.

Constant said that tennis has been a "blessing" for his family and also commended the former World No.10's performance on the court, stating that it is "far beyond ordinary."

“I pretty much played him when he was 9. And I lost. So from that point on, I decided to leave him alone . Because his level was not for me anymore. For us the family, I mean tennis has been a blessing. It's far beyond ordinary right now what Frances is doing" Constant said.

Looking ahead, Frances Tiafoe will begin his 2025 season at the Brisbane International which will take place from December 30, 2024, to January 6, 2025. His last appearance at the ATP 250 hard court tournament was seven years ago, in 2018, where he was eliminated in the first round.

The competition will have some quality players competing, in Novak Djokovic, Grigor Dimitrov and Holger Rune.
