Paula Badosa, who recently wrapped up her season citing health concerns, shared a glimpse of her workout in the gym. The Spaniard withdrew from the last match of her season, the Japan Open, which was slated for September 23 - October 27, 2024.
Before pulling out of the Japan Open, Badosa competed in the Ningbo Open, where she reached the semi-finals of the tournament; however, she had to retire early from the match. The player decided to take a medical timeout after the first set against Daria Kastakina, where she got her blood pressure checked but she eventually she had to retire, citing health concerns.
Following this, Paula Badosa withdrew from the Toray Pan Pacific Open and shared a note on social media, announcing the end of her season. Days after this, the Spaniard shared an Instagram story where she uploaded a mirror selfie of herself in the gym. She donned a lavender-colored sports top and skinny black-colored leggings.
Badosa frequently shares updates about her personal and professional life on her Instagram stories. She recently comforted her boyfriend, Stefans Tsitsipas, after he faced defeat against Arthur Fils in the quarter-final match of the Swiss Indoors. Shortly after this, she shared two pictures with the Greek player on her story, where both of them were seen adorably posing with each other.
Paula Badosa announced the end of her season after health concerns
A day after retiring early from the Ningbo Open, Paula Badosa announced the end of her 2024 season on her Instagram story. She shared an official statement where she emphasized her health concerns as the reason behind her concluding the season. Along with this, she also exuded pride on herself for overcoming various situations and said that she was already looking forward to recovering soon and representing her country again on the court.
"Because of health issues I wasn't able to play yesterday and won't be able to play Tokyo unfortunately. My 2024 season has ended. Has been a very long season where I overcame situations I thought they were impossible," Paul Badosa wrote. "I'm very proud of myself. I'm back where I wanted to be and where I was aiming since my comeback. (one of the best players in the world again) Already looking forward to recover well and prepare to represent my country in Malaga for BJKC. Thank you for the support always. See you soon."
Along with the Ningbo Open, Paula Badosa also reached the semi-finals of the China Open, where she was defeated by Coco Gauff, which stopped her from advancing to the finals of the tournament. The 26-year-old also won the title of the Citi Open, where she faced a showdown against Marie Bouzkova in the finals and trounced her with a score of 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, on August 5.
