"Psychopaths" - Martina Navratilova slams Donald Trump & 'sycophantic' SCOTUS judges after Georgia woman reportedly dies due to state's abortion laws
Martina Navratilova, widely regarded as one of the best tennis players to have graced the courts, has stayed in the spotlight after her retirement as she voices her strong opinions on politics on social media. Most recently, the American criticized former president Donald Trump and the Supreme Court of the United States over the nation's abortion laws.
Navratilova has often voiced her opposition to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe vs Wade, a 1973 ruling that recognized that ‘the decision whether to continue or end a pregnancy belongs to the individual, not the government’. The law was overturned in 2022, leading to intense scrutiny and criticism from many.
In a recent report, a Georgia woman reportedly died due to the restrictive abortion laws of the state, and an X user shared the news writing,
“Amber Thurman had leftover fetal tissue in her body, developed sepsis, and needed a D&C. But Georgia's abortion ban had made performing this procedure a felony, with few exceptions. It took 20 hours for doctors to finally operate. By then, it was too late.”
Martina Navratilova expressed her dismay at the situation, replying,
“This is all on Trump and his sycophantic SCOTUS judges. All three lied when questioned about Roe- they all said it’s settled law - Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Coney Barrett; now healthy women are dying. I hate what they have done to our country. Psychopaths by proxy is who they are.”
Martina Navratilova labels Donal Trump a psychopath
This isn't the first time that Martina Navratilova has labeled Donald Trump a psychopath. The tennis legend has repeatedly made her support for the Democratic party clear ahead of the upcoming US Presidential elections and has continually voiced her negative opinions on Trump.
In July, the former president survived an assassination attempt at one of his rallies, but a man in attendance was killed. Reportedly, Trump failed to connect with the victim's family, with an X user posting,
“I'm sorry but I just can't get over this. A man DIED while ATTENDING A TRUMP RALLY, catching the bullet intended for Donald Trump, and that sleazy piece of sh*t hasn't even called the family yet? Are you f**king kidding me?”
Navratilova reacted by replying,
“The empathy gene is totally missing in Trump - which is what makes him a psychopath.”
As a player, Martina Navratilova was the most successful tennis athlete in the Open Era. She collected a total of 59 Major titles in a career spanning over three decades.
