Rafael Nadal's sister Maribel reacts as brother shares family photos from scenic outing in Mallorca ft. wife Maria and baby son

Rafael Nadal recently enjoyed a family outing in Mallorca and shared a few pictures from the day with his fans online. His sister, Maribel Nadal, later reacted positively to the photos.

Nadal officially ended his illustrious tennis career at the 2024 Davis Cup Finals in Malaga on November 19. Unfortunately, he didn't receive a much-deserved fairytale farewell. He faced the Netherlands' Botic Van de Zandschulp but was defeated 6-4, 6-4. Additionally, Team Spain was ultimately eliminated by the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.

Since retiring, Nadal has been fully embracing life. He recently spent quality time with his wife, Maria Francisca Perello, their baby son, and other family members at the picturesque Cúber Lake in Mallorca. The Spaniard shared photos from the outing on Instagram, along with the caption,:

"Family time ❤️ family time," (translated from Spanish to English).

In an interview with The National, Rafael Nadal reflected on his struggles at the ATP Finals. The Spaniard admitted that he often wasn't in top shape at the end of the season, something which made the tournament particularly challenging for him.

I was a little bit unlucky that at the end of the season I was not in my best shape physically. A lot of time with injuries. Then I had very difficult rivals in front and I played all my career ATP Finals in indoor fast courts, on indoor hard, and at the beginning indoor carpet," he said (via Tennis 365).

Nadal acknowledged his lack of an ATP Finals title, expressing that while he would have loved to win, he accepted not converting his chances.

"But nothing to complain. If you ask me what I would have liked to win, of course I would love to have one of these. I had my chances; I was not able to convert them. That’s fine," he added.

The 38-year-old retired from professional tennis with a remarkable 92 tour-level titles, featuring 22 Grand Slam triumphs, 36 Masters 1000 titles, and an Olympic singles gold medal.
