RCB use a hilarious 'garden' reference for Rohit Sharma's Wimbledon appearance
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) social media page wrote a hilarious caption for Indian captain Rohit Sharma's appearance at the Wimbledon Championships. Rohit was in attendance at the Centre Court for the first men's semifinal of Wimbledon 2024 between Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev.
The ace batter has a reputation for being quite a humorous person. There have also been times when Rohit scolded the youngsters in his style to ensure they didn't slack in the field and the fans have found his one-liners hilarious.
One such moment was during India's Test series against England earlier this year. Rohit Sharma told some players to remain alert on the field. However, he used a hilarious 'garden' reference and said:
"Koi garden mein nahi ghumega. (No one will act like they are roaming in a garden)."
The quote has blown up so much on social media that even RCB decided to use the garden reference in the caption of the picture of Rohit standing on the lawn of Centre Court.
Here's what the caption read:
"Skipper himself in the 𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧! #IYKYK 🤫"
Here's the post:
Youngsters like Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan had said after the England series that Rohit Sharma scolded them only out of love and always looked after them like an elder brother.
Rohit Sharma rightly predicted the Wimbledon final
Speaking to Star Sports at Wimbledon on Friday, July 12, Rohit Sharma predicted that Novak Djokovic would face Carlos Alcaraz in the men's Wimbledon final.
"It is going to be Alcaraz and Djokovic, that's my guess. I am not going to say who is going to win. I will say may the best player win because I have been in that position where other people pick names or sides. So I will say may the best player win," he said.
Rohit also opened up on how big a tennis fan he is and why it was a no-brainer for him to be present at Wimbledon since he was in London.
