USA's Fritz took on Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik in the men's singles first round at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The World No. 11 has been in fine form this year, winning two titles and making it into the second week of all three Grand Slam events. He continued his impressive run by picking up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Bublik.
In attendance for his match were his teammates Tommy Paul and Marcos Giron. Moreover, Fritz's girlfriend, social media influencer Morgan Riddle, was also in the stands. She took to her Instagram story to announce the 'Return of Claylor'.
'Claylor' is a play on Taylor Fritz's name combined with clay. Earlier during the clay-court season this year, the American revealed the importance of performing well on clay. He mentioned the amount of high-level tournaments played on clay courts and desired a better showing.
His return to clay following his quarterfinal loss against Casper Ruud in the French Open was triumphant. Fritz and Riddle celebrated by visiting his 'favorite place', L'entrecote Champs Elysees, a restaurant located at Rue de Marignan in Paris, France. Riddle posted about the visit on her Instagram story.
