Roger Federer bumps into 2-time Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins

Roger Federer bumped into Sir Anthony Hopkins at a restaurant which resulted in an unlikely coming together of two legends, from different professions. The two icons of their craft got pictures together, leaving fans wanting more.

Images of the 20-time Grand Slam champion and the legendary actor were shared by Hopkins' assistant Juan Miguel Arias on Instagram. They showed the duo sitting together at a dinner table. Another image featured the Swiss legend and Hopkins with Arias himself.

Tennis author Bastien Fachan noticed the picture of the two and couldn't resist reposting it to his Twitter account. He captioned it by noting the pair's stunning achievements.

Hopkins won his first Academy Award, popularly known as the Oscars, in 1991 for his role as Hannibal Lecter in the acclaimed movie 'Silence Of The Lambs'. He won his second Oscar in 2020 for 'The Father', where he played a man suffering from dementia.

Roger Federer retired from tennis last year after 24 years on tour, winning 20 Grand Slam and 103 ATP titles.

The former World No.1 is now taking an active role in business after he invested in the Swiss brand 'On Running'. The company announced that World No. 1 Iga Swiatek and Ben Shelton have signed with it on March 20.

The brand recently launched 'THE ROGER' shoe collection. This includes exclusively designed shoes like 'THE ROGER Pro', 'THE ROGER Clubhouse', 'THE ROGER Advantage', to name a few.

The Swiss star was also announced as co-chair of this year's Met Gala, which takes place on the first Monday of May every year.

He will co-chair the event alongside international superstar Dua Lipa, Penelope Cruz, and British star Michaela Coel. This year's Met Gala will be held on May 5 and the theme will be the legendary Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019.

Federer also signed a 10-year deal with Uniqlo in 2018. He also started 'Roger Federer Foundation' in 2003, which has raised $50 million since its inception and has helped educate more than a million kids in Africa.

The 41-year-old also endorses brands like Rolex, Uniqlo, On-Running, and Switzerland Tourism. His endorsements also include investment banking company Credit Suisse, confectionary company Lindt, Wilson, Mercedes-Benz, Barilla, Moet & Chandon, and more.
