Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian shares 3-word message to Noah Lyles after $4 million-worth Olympian proposes big 'Track vs NFL' event

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian has reacted to Noah Lyles' recent proposal to have a major 'Track vs NFL' event, pitting the biggest stars in both sports against each other.

Speaking in a recent episode of the 'Beyond the Records' podcast, Lyles and fellow Olympian Grant Holloway sent forth a 40-yard race invitation to NFL stars Tyreek Hill and DK Metcalf.

"If Noah's gonna do Tyreek, and if we can get Coleman vs Xavier Worthy, I'll take the undercard with [DK Metcalf]. It'd be good. Now, when you line up next to me, I might look like a little boy," Holloway said.

Expanding on the idea, Lyles revealed that should the event take place, it would be similar to the recent Neflix-broadcasted fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, an event that drew massive attention worldwide.

"I am already giving out too much information, but it would be very Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul type," Lyles said.

The $4 million-worth Paris Olympics 100m gold medalist also shared a clip of the interview on his social media, writing:

"Let’s Set this up a Track Vs. NFL Event."

This idea seemed to endear itself to Alexis Ohanian, who shared his enthusiasm with a three-word message.

"This is smart," Ohanian stated.

Serena Williams' husband is a major supporter of track and field in the US, launching a women's-only event 'Athlos' this year to attract top talents around the world. The event had a prize money of more than $600,000 and saw the likes of Gabby Thomas and Faith Kipyegon participating.

“The American women have always been exceptional in track and field,” he said in an interview with Vogue. “We're all captivated by these women during the Olympics, then for four years it seems like they disappear.”

The Reddit co-founder wanted to help the sport keep the attention of fans during Olympics cycles, lamenting that track and field stars often get no exposure from the media for the four years in between the Games.

“Obviously, Gabby winning three gold medals certainly helped, but track and field has captivated everyone this year, and you’re seeing these stars get a lot of the attention they deserve. It’s our job to make sure they keep getting it in between now and the next Olympics. That’s what Athlos is about," he said.

The event is set to come back next year as well, after drawing three million viewers in its debut.
