Serena Williams husband Alexis Ohanian swells with pride as LA Golf Club's 10% give back program for Maggie Hathaway Golf Course gets highlighted
L.A. Golf Club's first signed player, Collin Morikawa, recently highlighted how the team's 10% giveback program will support the Maggie Hathaway transformation project and benefit the golfing community in Los Angeles. Alexis Ohanian, co-owner of the club and Serena Williams' husband, later expressed pride in Morikawa's statements.
Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC), owned by entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian, his wife 23-time Major champion Serena Williams, and her sister Venus Williams, is one of six founding teams in the upcoming Tomorrow's Golf League.
In January, the Los Angeles Golf Club announced its 10% giveback program to support the restoration of the Maggie Hathaway Course. Under this initiative, 10% of the club's annual sponsorship revenues will be allocated directly to revitalizing the Maggie Hathaway Golf Course and its facilities. Co-owned by Alexis Ohanian, the club also aims to make the sport accessible to everyone.
Morikawa, an ambassador of the giveback program, recently emphasized its significance.
"10% of it is going to be donated back to the Maggie Hathaway project. It's been such an honor to be a part of this as ambassador, and to be a part of LAGC and to know their give back efforts, to give back to the city that I care about so much. I couldn't have asked for a better team around me. This is all about team, this is all about community. And what better to have great partners like that," he said.

Ohanian later shared Morikawa’s interview, showing pride in LAGC’s work to support the LA community through partnerships like the one with Maggie Hathaway.
"We're doing it differently! The success of @weareLAGC is gonna lift up the LA community thanks to partnerships like ours with Maggie Hathaway — getting even more Angelenos access to a golf course and the skills that come with it!" He expressed.
The golf course also began renovation a few days ago, investing a whopping $20 million. Ohanian had a say in that as well.
Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian on his teams' collaborations on community-focused projects like the Maggie Hathaway transformation
Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, highlighted how his teams, Angel City FC and LA Golf Club, have collaborated with non-profit organizations to support community-focused initiatives such as the Maggie Hathaway project.
Besides the LA Golf Club, Ohanian and Williams are also key shareholders in Angel City FC, which became a part of the National Women's Soccer League in 2022.
The project recently received a $20 million upgrade, led by L.A. County Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Fore Youth Golf Foundation. The LA Golf Club shared the update on X, which was later shared by Ohanian.
"The new way to build a sports team isn't to wait until years later to start passing out turkeys — it's partnering with community non-profits from Day Zero to invest in the community where you're building a team. We did it with @weareangelcity and doing it again with @weareLAGC," he wrote.
Ohanian and Williams met in 2015 and married two years later. Their eldest daughter, Olympia, was born nearly two months before their wedding, while their younger daughter, Adira, was born last year.
