Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian teases info about Season 2 of NWSL reality series "Offseason" following ground-breaking success

Serena Williams' husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian teased information about the second season of the NWSL (National Women Soccer League) reality show "Offseason". The show has been co-produced by Ohanian and Gotham FC forward Midge Purce.

The reality series debuted on October 18 and followed the lives of 11 NWSL players as they lived and trained in a house in Florida during the offseason.

The first season that streamed exclusively on X concluded this month with the players back on the field. Orland Pride defeated Washington Spirit 1-0 to win the NWSL championship shield on Saturday, November 23.

A sports journalist took to X to share her interaction with Orlando Pride midfielder Ally Watt and wrote:

"After winning the #NWSL Championship I asked Ally Watt if she'll bring the trophy and the Shield to season 2 of @OffseasonFC: "I haven't heard anything about a second season, waiting for that, but I don't know, Midge might not want to invite me back now, so Midge, I'm sorry!""

The post caught Ohanian's attention who took the opportunity to send a teaser out about the show's second edition.

"Everyone wants to know about @OffseasonFC Season Two... Standby..."

In the same post, a fan suggested that the episodes be aired before the start, as a build-up of the next season. Ohanian replied in agreement, hinting at the second season possibly coming up earlier than anticipated.

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian is a big supporter and investor in women's sports. He co-owns and is a primary investor in Angel City FC with a $100 million investment. He also co-produced the reality show "Offseason" which featured some of the top NWSL players including Michelle Alozie, Kelli Hubly and Taylor Smith.

The show's first episode drew 2.5 million views within 24 hours of its streaming on X. Ohanian took to Instagram to celebrate its success and wrote:

"3,200,000 VIEWS and counting 😮‍💨 and people told us there wouldn't be an audience for a reality show starring pro women atheltes," Ohanian wrote.

The show continued to gain traction and crossed 43 million views. Ohanian updated his Instagram at the time to share the rising number of views and clapped back at naysayers with:

"They said we'll have trouble finding an audience for @offseasonfc," Ohanian wrote using a smirk emoji.

The show eventually surpassed the 100 million mark laying all doubts about its success to rest. Ohanian took to X to thank the viewers while once again hitting back at critics.

"DAMN. @OffseasonFC has BLOWN PAST 100,000,000 views. The latest episode (ep 4) already has 63.8M views and counting and our website only recounts ever 24hrs so the 133M views is stale. LFG.Thanks to everyone who watched. And all the haters have a special place in my heart!" he wrote.

Ohanian's other investments in women's sports include the track-and-field event Athlos NYC and a women's sports bar.
