Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian 'thankful' that daughter Olympia has 'athletic physique' of her mother as 7-year-old races at Athlos NYC
Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently shared pictures of their daughter Olympia running on the track at the Athlos NYC event. The 41-year-old also expressed his gratitude for Olympia inheriting Williams' "athletic physique," as a fan with whom Ohanian agreed put it.
Ohanian, a staunch advocate for women's sports, has also channeled his entrepreneurial skills into promoting them. Through his venture capital firm, Seven Seven Six, the 41-year-old invested in the Athlos NYC event, which took place on September 26.
Several big names took center stage, with Marileidy Paulino winning the 400 meters and Olympic gold medalist Faith Kipyegon winning the 1500 meters. One of the biggest upsets came from Brittany Brown, who won 100-meter races and defeated favorite Gabby Thomas to secure the 200-meter title.
Ohanian, the Reddit co-founder, tweeted in reply to a picture on X posted by Olympia's account of her running on the race track at the event, seemingly enjoying herself. He tweeted:
“She runs NY. Olympia had such a good time she asked to run the track at the end and I had to oblige. We gifted dozens of NY track youth tickets to this event because these kids deserve to be part of history - if they can see a professional path, everything changes."
The same picture was shared on Olympia's Instagram handle. A fan later commented that Olympia has an athletic physique similar to her mother, 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams. Ohanian responded by writing:
"Thankfully."
Ohanian also shared a short clip on X showing Olympia racing with her cousin.
"Jr insisted on racing her cousin... Papa had to oblige... @ATHLOS KIDS next???"
Numerous celebrities attended the Athlos NYC event, including Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong'o, who later met Olympia and Ohanian.

Alexis Ohanian shared Olympia's excitement after meeting Lupita Nyong'o at Icahn Stadium. Athlos NYC shared a post on Instagram, a series of pictures showcasing all the renowned faces. It had a caption which read:
"We see you - and appreciate you! - on this historic night: @lupitanyongo @shondarhimes @marsaimartin @justingatlin @nathalieemmanuel @thekidmero @flavorflavofficial."
Later in the comments, Ohanian shared Olympia's joy in meeting Nyong'o. He wrote:
"@OlympiaOhanian was SO excited to meet Roz from her favorite book (now movie) The Wild Robot."
Nyong'o has appeared in numerous Hollywood movies, including A Quiet Place: Day One, Us, Black Panther, and the Star Wars franchise.
