Serena Williams' husband and father-of-two Alexis Ohanian shares powerful message about 'superpower' of growing up with two loving parents

Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, opened up about the transformative influence of growing up with two loving parents. Ohanian referred to the experience of being nurtured by his father and mother as a "superpower."

Alexis Ohanian comes from a family with a diverse and rich heritage. His father, Chris Ohanian, is of Armenian descent, with a family history marked by the harrowing experience of fleeing the Armenian Genocide and finding refuge in the United States.

Chris, who worked as a travel agent and pharmacy technician, also embraced entrepreneurship as he continued to run his travel business in Maryland. The father and son share a passion for sports, often attending Washington Commanders football games together.

Meanwhile, Alexis's mother, Anke Ohanian, brought the strength and discipline of her German roots, having immigrated to the United States and built a life with Chris. Tragically, Anke passed away in 2008 after battling brain cancer.

In an X post on January 25, a user highlighted the significant advantage of having multiple loving parents, stating:

"It’s crazy how big of an advantage having multiple loving parents is."

Ohanian, who is a father to two daughters, Olympia and Adira River, echoed this sentiment, responding how he has been lucky to grow up around two parents, writing:

"Being lucky to grow up with 2 definitely feels like a superpower some days."

Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, opened up about how becoming a father has transformed both his life and career. During a conversation in his podcast 'Business Dad' in July 2024, Ohanian shared his experiences navigating the joys and challenges of balancing parenthood with a thriving professional life.

The 41-year-old posted the podcast clip on Instagram, reflecting on how his priorities shifted after Olympia's birth, saying:

"One of the things that really changed my life was becoming a father. One of the reasons for that was I realized that after spending so much of my life really focused on myself and building my career, I now had this little human who I just cared so much more about than anything else."
"One of the reasons why I continue to work, specifically like the things I work on, is because I know that they're watching and I want to be that role model for my children. And it's given like a purpose to my work."

In other news, Alexis Ohanian stressed the importance of "unconditional love" in parenting.
