Serena Williams set to appear in Remy Martin's Super Bowl commercial, says she is "honored" and "excited"
Tennis icon Serena Williams is set to make an appearance in a Super Bowl commercial for Remy Martin. The American, widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes in the world, said that she felt honored to be able to star in the commercial.
Remy Martin, an iconic cognac house based in France, has roped in Williams for their 60-second ad spot during the Super Bowl. The trailer for Remy Martin's commercial, titled "Inch by Inch," was released on Friday, February 3, while the entire advertisement will be made public on February 12, Sunday, during the Super Bowl. It will be shown during the first quarter of the game.
One teaser shows the American sporting a gold varsity jacket as she walks through a tunnel and then suddenly comes into the light. Another shows Williams being served a drink while sitting at a bar.
In a conversation with PEOPLE, Serena Williams, 41, expressed her happiness at being a part of the project. She further sang the praises of the French firm.
"I am honored and excited to be able to work with Rémy Martin, whose core values are so similar to my own personal principles. Rémy Martin is a brand based on generosity, authenticity, and teamwork, all qualities that I have taken great strides to incorporate in my life and my career," Williams said.
The 23-time Grand Slam singles winner further stated how she's "excited to inspire others" with their project.
"Together, we’re incredibly excited to inspire others with ‘Inch by Inch’ and team up in pursuit of excellence, which is a message that has always resonated with me and I'm sure will resonate with viewers nationwide," Serena Williams added.
On Sunday, February 12, the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

In a press release, Jean-Philippe Hecquet, the CEO of the House of Rémy Martin, also showered praise on the former World No. 1. He said having someone as iconic as Serena Williams, that too in their first-ever Super Bowl commercial, would really help them.
