41-year-old Serena Williams recently revealed what was on her mind amid all the comeback chatter. Williams expressed great confidence at still being able to play at a high level and admitted that her level of tennis on the practice court was too good for her not to still be a part of the WTA circuit. But at the same time, she does not want to compromise on health and a good quality of life.

"Actually, I did play the other day, and it's just like, 'There's no way I shouldn't be playing professional tennis. Like, there's literally no excuse. But I mean, I guess there is an excuse, right?" Williams told E!.
"It's hard because when I'm playing, I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm pretty good at this. I can continue to do this,' which not a lot of people can say. I also wanted to walk away when I'm healthy and have a quality of life."

Apart from family, the retired 23-time Grand Slam champion has been devoting a lot of her time and focus towards her venture capital firm Serena Ventures and other business-related commitments.
