Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian recently showcased their daughter Olympia's collection of souvenirs from the 2024 Paris Olympics. They include pins and badges from several countries participating in the marquee event.
Williams was part of the Paris Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, July 26. The American, along with Rafael Nadal, Carl Lewis and legendary gymnast Nadia Comaneci, carried the Olympic torch in a boat on the Seine River.
Olympia watched her mother and later had an adorable reaction. The 6-year-old is enjoying her time in Paris and was seemingly thrilled to collect official mementos from several countries participating in the event.
Her father later shared these on X (formerly Twitter) and revealed that his daughter was especially excited to get the Armenia pin.
"Olympia's Olympic credentials. She was VERY excited to get the Armenia pin," Ohanian wrote.
A fan on X later highlighted an image featuring Serena Williams and Olympia, noting that the six-year-old was wearing a Kenyan wristband, and questioned where she got it.
In response, Alexis Ohanian revealed that Olympia asked for a pin from a few Kenyan players, who generously gifted her a wristband instead.
"From some Kenyan players! She was so excited to meet them and ask for their pin (and they gave her an even better upgrade with that bracelet!)" Ohanian said.
Alexis Ohanian had a light-hearted response after getting called Serena Williams' "umbrella holder"
Alexis Ohanian, who was present with Serena Williams during the opening ceremony, held an umbrella over her head due to the rainy weather in Paris. The moment was captured on camera, following which a commentator from Eurosport mistakenly referred to Ohanian as Williams' "umbrella holder."
"She looks absolutely incredible, she’s got someone just behind us holding an umbrella. Those are the levels you aspire to, to have an actual umbrella holder behind you," the commentator said.
Ohanian hilariously responded to the commentator's gaffe, sharing the image of his family from the marquee event on Instagram.
"Olympia. Serena. Serena's Personal Umbrella Holder.😂 Let the games begin! I'll be watching a lot of T&F (track and field) to soak up @athlos inspiration.🥇" he wrote in the caption.
The American entrepreneur Ohanian met Serena Williams in 2015. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Olympia in September 2017 and got married two months later. Their second daughter Adira River was born last year in August.
