The Six Kings Slam in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will feature some of the top names in men's tennis this year. Four of the top five players in the world will feature in the line-up alongside Rafael Nadal and Holger Rune.
The newly-formed Six Kings Slam will begin on Wednesday (October 16, 2024). Each player is guaranteed $1.5 million with the winner taking home a hefty prize check of $6 million.
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will begin proceedings against World No. 5 Daniil Medvedev in the first round (quarterfinals). Meanwhile, World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz will start his campaign against Holger Rune.
Novak Djokovic will face the winner between Sinner and Medvedev. Rafael Nadal will lock horns with either Alcaraz or Rune.
Sinner will enter the event on the back of a scintillating title triumph at the Shanghai Masters. He outclassed Djokovic in straight sets in the finals.
Alcaraz and Medvedev, on the contrary, were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters. Holger Rune chalked up a fourth-round appearance at the event where he came up shy against Taylor Fritz in straight sets.
Former World No. 1 Rafael Nadal will play one of the final events of his career at the Six Kings Slam this year. The Spaniard recently announced his impending retirement from professional tennis, which makes this event even more special for tennis fans around the globe.
The four-day event will begin on Wednesday with the quarterfinals and the semifinals set to take place on Thursday (October 17). The championship match is scheduled for Saturday (October 19) and there will also be a third-place match on the same day.
The Six Kings Slam will be held at 'The Venue' in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which has a capacity of 8,000 spectators. No ranking points will be on offer at the event. The tournament organizers came up with an appealing video for the event featuring all six players in a superhero format.
