Six Kings Slam Prize Money: How long did Daniil Medvedev and Holger Rune play to earn $1.5M?

Daniil Medvedev played 69 minutes at the Six Kings Slam while Holger Rune played 72 minutes to earn $1.5 million each, which is the minimum prize money at the exhibition event in Riyadh. Medvedev was thrashed by Jannik Sinner while Holger Rune lost to Carlos Alcaraz.

Six players are competing in the Six Kings Slam, with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic both receiving a bye to the semifinals. Two quarterfinals took place on the tournament's opening day, with Daniil Medvedev facing Jannik Sinner in one of them not long after losing 1-6, 4-6 to him in the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters.

Sinner got off to a flying start as he beat Medvedev in the first set after winning 31 out of 46 points. The Italian broke the Russian twice in the second set to register a 6-0, 6-3 win and reach the semifinals of the Six Kings Slam. The other quarterfinal saw Carlos Alcaraz take on Holger Rune.

The Spaniard had a break point in the opening game of the match and eventually broke the Dane to win the first set 6-4. He put on a solid performance in the second set to register a 6-4, 6-2 victory and set up a semifinal clash with his compatriot Rafael Nadal.

Medvedev and Rune were both eliminated in the opening round of the Six Kings Slam but they will earn $1.5 million each, which is the minimum prize money at the exhibition event.

The Russian's quarterfinal against Jannik Sinner lasted just 69 minutes, which means he will earn around $21,739 per minute. Holger Rune will earn $20,833 per minute, as his semifinal against Carlos Alcaraz lasted 72 minutes.

The two semifinals at the exhibition event will see Rafael Nadal face Carlos Alcaraz while Novak Djokovic will lock horns with Jannik Sinner. The two Spaniards last faced one another at the Netflix Slam, an exhibition event that took place in Las Vegas, with Alcaraz winning 3-6, 6-4, 14-12.

The last competitive encounter between them took place in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Madrid Open, with Carlos Alcaraz winning 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.

Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner will square off just days after locking horns in the final of the Shanghai Masters, which the Italian won 7-6(4), 6-3. The head-to-head between the two is currently tied at 4-4, with Sinner winning four out of their last five meetings.

No match will take place on October 18 and the third-place playoff and the final will both be played on October 19. The winner of the Six Kings Slam will earn $6,000,000.
