"Some things never change" - Paula Badosa shares hilarious glimpse of how her 'angry face' has stayed the same since childhood

Paula Badosa suggested that she looks the same when she is angry nowadays as she did during her childhood. The Spaniard did this via a hilarious picture of her from her childhood and opined that certain things in life stay the same no matter how old one grows.

Badosa, a former World No. 2, has enjoyed a resurgent 2024 season. The former Indian Wells champion had struggled with injuries for most of last year and the first part of this year.

However, from the 2024 Italian Open onwards, she managed to turn things around. Badosa won her fourth WTA Tour-level title at the Citi Open in Washington and also reached the quarterfinals of the US Open; her second quarterfinal appearance at a Major.

Recently, Paula Badosa took to Instagram and shared a photo of herself when she was just a child. The photo featured a young Badosa looking at the camera with an angry expression. The former World No. 2 captioned the Instagram Story:

Badosa was forced to cut her 2024 season short at the recently concluded Ningbo Open, where she retired mid-match during her semifinal showdown against eventual champion Daria Kasatkina.

The Spaniard later confirmed that she would be playing no further part in the remaining WTA Tour events this season.

Paula Badosa locked horns with crafty Russian Daria Kasatkina in the semifinals of the Ningbo Open, a WTA 500 event, on Saturday, October 19. The Spaniard lost the first set 4-6. A medical timeout ensued, during which it became evident that the former World No. 2 couldn't continue playing. As a result, Badosa retired from the contest.

She later confirmed via her Instagram Story that she would not be playing at any more tournaments on the WTA Tour this year. Badosa, though, expressed her pride over becoming a top 15 player once again, even though her ranking is likely to be affected owing to her lack of participation during the remainder of the season. The Spaniard also stated that her intention is to recover and prepare for the Billie Jean King Cup.

"Because of health issues I wasn't able to play yesterday and won't be able to play Tokyo unfortunately. My 2024 season has ended. Has been a very long season where I overcame situations I thought they were impossible," Badosa wrote.
"I'm very proud of myself. I'm back where I wanted to be and where I was aiming since my comeback. (one of the best players in the world again) Already looking forward to recover well and prepare to represent my country in Malaga for BJKC. Thank you for the support always. See you soon," she added.

The Billie Jean King Cup Finals is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, November 13, at the Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena Arena in Malaga, Spain.
