Novak Djokovic has shared heartwarming details about the adorable band he has formed with his son Stefan and daughter Tara. The Serb also opened up about how they travel with their instruments, creating cherished memories by jamming out together on trips.
Djokovic recently graced the cover of the Summer 2024 issue of Vogue Adria, cutting a stylish figure in a blue Lacoste jumper and navy pants. The 37-year-old posed with a vintage wooden tennis racket against the backdrop of a trophy cabinet on the retro set, with the cover declaring him 'The Greatest of All Time.'
In his featured interview for the magazine, the 24-time Grand Slam champion shed light on the most valuable lesson he has learned from his children, emphasizing the importance of being present in the moment.
"The best thing I learned from my children is to be present in every moment," he said.
Djokovic also opened up about his musical connection with his children, disclosing that they often have lengthy jam sessions, with his daughter Tara playing the violin, his son Stefan on the guitar, and him playing the saxophone.
The World No. 2 admitted that they bring their instruments along while traveling, suggesting that the joy of their "little band" was responsible for him winning his 24th Grand Slam at the 2023 US Open.
"Tara plays the violin, Stefan loves to play the guitar, and I play the saxophone. Sometimes our jams last for hours, and it’s my favorite part of the day or trip. Yes, I admit – we take our instruments on trips. Maybe my little band was responsible for my victory at the US Open and the twenty-fourth Grand Slam I won," he said.
The Serb also revealed his nighttime plans to bond with his children over their favorite cartoon.
"I’ll probably watch ‘Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote’ with the kids tonight, as it’s our favorite cartoon to watch together," he added.
"That was for Tara" - Novak Djokovic reveals how his daughter inspired his new violin celebration at Wimbledon 2024
Novak Djokovic's daughter Tara's love for the violin has manifested in a special way during the Serb's campaign at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. The Serb celebrated his 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(3) win over Alexei Popyrin in the third round by mimicking playing a violin with his racket.
In his post-match press conference, the World No. 2 revealed that he had made a pact with his daughter Tara to pay tribute to her passion for the instrument in this manner during his run.
"That was for Tara. My [daughter] has been playing violin for some time already, six months, and we agreed that I would celebrate that way," he said.
Djokovic is through to the semifinals of the grasscourt Major, as he continues his quest to equal Roger Federer's record of eight Wimbledon titles. The Serb will battle it out against Lorenzo Musetti for a spot in the final.
