"Sorry I gave you a goatee baby" - Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian issues apology to daughter Olympia after hilarious pancake mishap
Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, made a hilarious mistake while preparing pancakes for his daughter, Olympia Ohanian. The couple frequently shares updates of their daughter's shenanigans on social media and the pancake ritual has been a regular on their feed.
Ohanian shared a post on Instagram where he apologized to Olympia as he mistakenly gave his elder daughter a goatee. He shared a carousel of pictures, which carried adorable snaps of the pancakes.
Ohanian tried to flex his skills by making some Olympia and Adria-inspired pancakes. He also made the desert for his dogs with their faces on it. The post's caption read:
"Just another #PapaPancakes morning with @olympiaohanian on the griddle... Sorry I gave you a goatee baby...But she even made one and you'll get some fun dog tricks if you swipe to the end.."
Serena Williams and Ohanian first met in May 2015 at the Cavalieri Hotel in Rome during breakfast, seated next to each other. The tennis player made the first move, inviting him to sit with her and her friends and then invited him to watch her compete at the 2015 French Open. The couple went to Paris on their first date after William's triumph at the tournament.
Following this, she made her relationship public in 2016, after sharing a picture of them celebrating Halloween together. Months later, Ohanian proposed to Williams and announced their engagement on 29 December 2016.
After almost a year of their engagement, the couple welcomed their daughter Olympia Ohanian on 1 September 2017. They got married on 16 November 2017 at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, and welcomed their second daughter, Adria River Ohanian, on 22 August 2023.
Serena Williams opened up about being a champion by fulfilling her motherly duties
In a conversation with People, Serena Williams opened up about how being a champion, for her, is more about being there for her kids and not necessarily winning Wimbledon or any other tournament. She also revealed that taking out time for her kids from her busy schedule made her feel like a 'champion mom'. She said:
"Wake up, that’s all I do. I could barely wake up today! I feel like everybody’s a champion. You don’t have to be winning Wimbledon or a gold medal to be a champion. Being a champion is really just being there for your kids. I think that’s a huge champion,” said Serena Williams. "I went home and I made lunch for the kids, and I knew that I wouldn't be there to see them eat it, but I knew I made it, and that made me feel good. And I tell you, that made me feel like a champion mom."
Serena Williams announced her retirement in 2022, after competing in the 2022 US Open, marking the final match of her career.
