Stefanos Tsitsipas retired from his second-round match against Alexei Popyrin at the recent Paris Masters in order to prevent aggravating his arm injury. The 23-year-old has seemingly recovered now though, and has resumed training at his coach Patrick Mouratoglou's academy.

Tsitsipas had revealed at Paris that his arm injury had been bothering him for a while. He had also claimed it was the reason behind his below-par performances over the previous few months.

But in a video on Instagram posted by the academy, the Greek ace could be seen doing some intense cardio drills.

There is no video yet showing Tsitsipas playing on the court, which would confirm that he is match-fit again. But the World No. 4 could be seen tossing a ball back and forth with his trainer, which is a good sign.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has made early exits in his last few tournaments due a combination of bad form and injury. Needless to say, however, the 2021 Roland Garros runner-up will look to play his best at the upcoming year-end ATP Finals.

This will be Tsitsipas' third consecutive appearance in the elite season-ending event. He won on his debut in 2019, defeating Dominic Thiem in the final, but failed to advance past the round-robin stage last year.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, who lost to Novak Djokovic in this year's French Open final, said in a recent interview that the dominance of the 'Big 3' in tennis doesn't exist anymore. The Greek also claimed that Djokovic is the only "big" player at present, as he continues to rewrite records.

Tsitsipas believes that he, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev have the potential to form the next big 3 in the sport. A change of guard is already underway, as Medvedev won his maiden Grand Slam at this year's US Open to end Djokovic's bid for a Calendar Slam. The other two, meanwhile, have reached a Grand Slam final each.
