Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle goes from social media influencer to Vogue contributor after sit down with fashion industry icon Anna Wintour
In a major update, Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle has revealed that she has joined Vogue magazine as a contributor after a recent meeting with its editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Riddle has already made a name for herself in the tennis world, playing a key role in bringing the sport to the mainstream audience as a social media influencer.
With a following of more than 400,000 on Instagram, Riddle is among the most famous player-partners in the tennis world now. Routinely accompanying the American No. 1 to major tournaments around the world, she shares behind-the-scenes footage of how the sport operates and enthrals followers from around the world.
Now, the 27-year-old has taken the next step in her journey of combining tennis with fashion. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Riddle disclosed that she visited the Vogue office last week, following which her new role was confirmed.
"I thought this month couldn’t get crazier, and then last week i had the privilege to visit the vogue office and sit down with anna wintour — someone who i have admired for so long. incredibly excited to share i am joining @voguemagazine as a contributor 🩷 follow along on the new app where ill be sharing BTS with editors and other contributors of fashion & fun," Riddle wrote.
Taylor Fritz has spoken highly of Riddle's influence on his career, confiding in an interview last year that she helped him become more disciplined and therefore, more successful on the tennis tour.
"It's a selfish sport and you have to be selfish. She just pushes me a lot to stay disciplined. She holds me accountable because she actually cares about my success. I think that a really important thing is to have someone that just wants the best for you and shares the same goals. She also pushes me to do all the right things," Fritz said in a conversation on Netflix's 'Break Point' reunion.
Fritz was last in action at the US Open, where he reached the final before losing to Jannik Sinner. Riddle accompanied him throughout the fortnight at Flushing Meadows, where, interestingly, Anna Wintour was also occasionaly in attendance to support British No. 1 Jack Draper.
"When you fail on social media, it’s there for everyone to see" - Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle
Speaking in an interview with the Cut last year, Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle shed light on how she approaches her job as a social media influencer, acknowledging that it came with its own set of challenges.
Riddle emphasized how her failures are often there for everyone to see, which leads her to remind herself constantly that it was an unavoidable part of her occupation.
"The biggest difference between doing corporate and doing social media is if I fail in a corporate job, the only person that really sees it or knows about it is maybe my boss, and that, of course, is frustrating, but when you fail on social media, it’s there for everyone to see."
"I always have to tell myself that little tidbit of advice: You’re gonna fail, people are gonna see it, it’s gonna happen. The other thing I say is, it’s lonely at the top if you don’t send the elevator back down," Riddle said.
