The men's singles US Open final between Taylor Fritz and Jannik Sinner has drawn star power from various industries. Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Maria Sharapova, Andre Agassi, and Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey are among the many celebrities in attendance.
Top seed Sinner takes on 12th seed Fritz in the summit clash at the 2024 US Open at the Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday, September 8. Sinner is playing in his first final at the New York Major while Fritz is participating in his maiden Grand Slam final.
Several stars made their way to Flushing Meadows for the highly anticipated championship match. Kansas City Chiefs tight end and three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce attended alongside his girlfriend, 14-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift, joined by his quarterback teammate and fellow three-time champion Patrick Mahomes.
Rock legend Bon Jovi was also in the stadium, expressing his awe for the players, calling them "magicians." NBA legend Steph Curry, who attended the women's final the day before, was back for more action, joined by NBA champion Jayson Tatum, who also took his seat in the stands.
Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey rallied for a "home-court advantage" for Fritz, sporting an American flag headband as he cheered from the stands. At the same time, Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny added to the star-studded atmosphere along with Mad Men's Jon Hamm.
Former US Open champions Billie Jean King, Andre Agassi, and Maria Sharapova were also in attendance. Sharapova also previously attended Aryna Sabalenka's semifinal against Emma Navarro.
Taylor Fritz feels he can 'play really well and win' the US Open 2024 final against Jannik Sinner
Upon reaching the 2024 US Open final, Taylor Fritz became the first American man to reach a Grand Slam singles final since Andy Roddick at Wimbledon in 2009. He feels he can become the first American to win a men's singles Grand Slam title since Roddick at the US Open in 2003.
During his press conference after the semifinal against Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Fritz said:
“I have a feeling I’m going to come out and play really well and win [the final]. When I play good tennis, I think that level is good enough to win.”
Fritz is up against World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the 2024 US Open final. This will be the third encounter between the pair with their head-to-head record tied at 1-1. They have played both their previous matches at the Indian Wells Masters with Fritz winning in 2021 and Sinner returning the favor in 2023.
