"Taylor Swift made Donald Trump's awful night worse" - Martina Navratilova, Andy Roddick promote musician's endorsement of Kamala Harris after debate
Martina Navratilova and Andy Roddick promoted Taylor Swift's endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris post-debate on Tuesday, September 10. According to Navratilova, Swift made Trump's 'awful night even worse'.
The American musician took to Instagram to post a picture of herself with a cat. In her caption, she detailed how a voter should 'research on the issues at hand' and revealed she is doing the same. She addressed her AI-generated video 'falsely endorsing' Trump and stated that she needed to get the truth out.
Swift boldly revealed she would be casting her 'vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election'.
Notably, this comes after she was spotted hugging Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany at the US Open men's singles final. Swift faced criticism, as Brittany has promoted Trump, while the 14-time Grammy winner has been vocal against the 78-year-old's policies.
American tennis icon, Martina Navratilova took to X to express her pleasure at Swift's formal endorsement of Harris. She wrote:
"Yippee:), Taylor just made Donold’s awful night even worse:)"
Moreover, former US Open champion Andy Roddick also took to X to highlight Swift's signature in the message as a 'mic-drop' moment.
"She signed the endorsement Childless Cat Lady ………. [microphone emoji] fell all the way down"
For context, by signing the message as 'Childless Cat Lady', Swift seemingly took a dig at Trump's running mate JD Vance's comments. Speaking on Fox News in 2021, Vance claimed Democrats were promoting an 'antifamily' agenda led by a 'bunch of childless cat ladies'.
Martina Navratilova praises American gymnast Simon Biles for reportedly donating $4 million to Kamala Harris' campaign
According to an X user Andy Behrman, American gymnast Simon Biles has donated $4 million to Kamala Harris' presidential campaign. Behrman mentioned that, according to Sports Illustrated, each $1 million is for the Olympic medals she won in Paris.
Martina Navratilova was overjoyed upon coming across the news and she reposted the update stating:
"Wow! That is amazing!"
The former World No. 1 has been a vocal supporter of Harris on social media. She believes the USA will be a 'better' place under the current Vice President, Harris, than under Republican Donald Trump.
Further, she has publicly denounced several acts of Trump and his running mate JD Vance.
The 2024 United States presidential election will be held on November 5. The elected candidate will succeed the 46th and current President of the United States, Joe Biden.
