Top seed Zheng Qinwen won the 2024 Toray Pan Pacific Open title on Sunday, October 27, defeating American Sofia Kenin 7-6(5), 6-3 in the final. The victory marked her second title of the season, following her win at the Palermo Ladies Open, and her fourth career title, adding to an already impressive year.
The Chinese hit 33 winners and fired 16 aces, securing the victory in an hour and 52 minutes under a closed roof after rain disrupted the first set. She will next compete at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Zheng's victory in Tokyo earned her a hefty $142,000 from the tournament's $922,573 prize pool, while Kenin took home $87,655. Sixth seed Diana Shnaider and Ninth seed Katie Boulter each received $51,205 after being eliminated in the semifinals.
Third seed Daria Kasatkina, eighth seed Leylah Fernandez, Bianca Andreescu and Sayaka Ishii, each got $24,910 for a quarterfinal finish.
Players eliminated in the second round — including second seed Beatriz Haddad Maia, Moyuka Uchijima, Varvara Gracheva, Viktoriya Tomova, Zeynep Sonmez, Clara Tauson, McCartney Kessler, and Kyoka Okamura — each took home $13,590.

Eri Hozumi and Shuko Aoyama win Tokyo 2024 women's doubles title
The Japanese duo of Eri Hozumi and Shuko Aoyama had a stellar run at this year’s Toray Pan Pacific Open, winning the doubles title by defeating Ena Shibahara and Laura Siegemund 6-4, 7-6(3). The winning team received $47,390 while the runners-up took home $28,720.
Top seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe, as well as third-seeded Americans Sofia Kenin and Bethanie Mattek-Sands, were eliminated in the semifinals. Each pair earned $16,430.
Meanwhile, second seeds Asia Muhammad and Demi Schuurs, fourth seeds Cristina Bucsa and Monica Niculescu, along with Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Diana Shnaider, and Peangtarn Plipuech and Tsao Chia-yi, each bagged $8,510, courtesy of a quarterfinal finish.
