"Toxic narcissist and getting worse" - Martina Navratilova slams Donald Trump over his women 'will no longer be thinking about abortion' claim

Martina Navratilova, one of the more vocal critics of Donald Trump, has once again taken a swipe at the former US President. This time around, the former World No. 1 criticized Trump over his recent claim regarding abortion at a Republican campaign rally.

The Republicans' anti-abortion stance and laws in effect across various states have come under fire recently. Georgia, particularly, is under scrutiny after the tragic death of 28-year-old resident Amber Thurman, the mother of a 6-year-old who was given delayed treatment after her medical abortion resulted in complications. Reportedly, the delayed treatment is linked to the state's anti-abortion laws.

At a Republican rally in Wilmington, North Carolina on Saturday, September 21, Trump said that if voted into power again, he would ensure women's health, happiness, confidence and freedom. According to the former President, this would subsequently lead to women 'no longer thinking about abortion'.

"Women will be happy, healthy, confident, and free. You will no longer be thinking about abortion," Trump said.

Trump's claim though, did not go down well at all with Martina Navratilova, who lashed out at the Republican presidential candidate for the 2024 US elections via a post on X (formerly Twitter). According to Navratilova, Trump already has a toxic level of narcissim and it's rapidly degrading further.

"What a toxic narcissist- and getting worse," Navratilova wrote.

After Navratilova got to know of Georgia native Thurman's death, she bemoaned the state of affairs in the US and pointed her finger at Trump as the one responsible for it.

Martina Navratilova, just like many others, was shocked by the news of Amber Thurman's death. Heavily opposed to the idea of women's abortion rights being taken away from them, the 67-year-old lambasted Trump and the US Supreme Court's judges aligned with the Republicans over the tragic development.

Navratilova also opined that the Republicans have made the US far worse than it used to be.

"This is all on Trump and his sycophantic SCOTUS judges. All three lied when questioned about Roe- they all said it’s settled law - Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Coney Barrett; now healthy women are dying. I hate what they have done to our country. Psychopaths by proxy is who they are," Navratilova wrote.

The 67-year-old also recently pointed out the contrast between how Kamala Harris is reaching out the victims of America's social issues and how Trump is continuing to make controversial and often-divisive statements.
