US Open 2024: Men's draw, schedule, players, prize money breakdown, and more

The US Open is nearly here, with main draw action set to begin on Monday, August 26. The men’s draw is packed with top contenders such as Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Jannik Sinner, all vying for the top prize.

Djokovic enters New York as the defending champion and is on a quest for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title. He made headlines last month by winning Olympic Gold and will be looking for further success. Alcaraz has had an outstanding season, winning both the French Open and Wimbledon, and will be seeking to avenge his Olympic final loss to Djokovic.

Sinner, the current top seed, comes to New York on the back of an impressive performance in Cincinnati. He is expected to be a formidable competitor at this year’s US Open. Others with a big outside chance include Alexander Zverev, Frances Tiafoe, Andrey Rublev, Hubert Hurkacz, and Ben Shelton, among others.

On that note, here is all the relevant information regarding the men's singles draw at the 2024 US Open.

What is the US Open?

The U.S. Open is the final Grand Slam tournament of the tennis calendar and is held annually in Queens, New York. The first edition took place in 1881, making it one of the oldest tennis events.

Originally played on grass and clay courts in Newport, the tournament moved to the hardcourts at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows in 1978, where it has been held ever since.

Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, and Jimmy Connors are tied for the most men's singles titles with five each, while Serena Williams holds the record for the most women's singles titles with six.
