US Open 2024 Men's Singles Winner Odds: Carlos Alcaraz leads charge as favorite, followed closely by Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner
The 2024 US Open is just around the corner, with the main draw set to commence on Monday, August 26. Carlos Alcaraz, the 2022 champion, heads into the Big Apple as the bookmakers' favorite for the title, closely followed by the top two seeds, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.
Alcaraz enters the New York Major with a 38-8 record for the season, along with titles at Indian Wells, the French Open, and Wimbledon. However, he did stumble in the final of his quest for an Olympic gold medal. Despite that, betting site BetMGM lists the Spaniard with favorable odds of +160, meaning a $100 bet on him would return $160 if he wins the tournament.
Arch-rivals Djokovic and Sinner both have odds of +200 to win the tournament. Four-time U.S. Open champion Djokovic turned his underwhelming season around at the recently concluded Paris Olympics, where he won his first-ever gold medal and avenged his Wimbledon defeat to Alcaraz. It was also his first title of 2024.
Sinner, on the contrary, picked up his fifth title of the season in Cincinnati last week with a dominant display against Frances Tiafoe in the final. He holds an impressive 48-5 match record so far this year. His best finish in New York was a quarterfinal finish in 2022, and he will be eager to go all the way this time.
World No. 4 Alexander Zverev is the fourth favorite to win the title, with odds of +800. This year, he has won the Italian Open and reached the final of the French Open. He arrives in New York following a quarterfinal exit in Montreal and a three-set loss to Sinner in Cincinnati. Zverev reached the US Open final back in 2020, but went down to Dominic Thiem in five tight sets.
2021 champion Daniil Medvedev is the fifth favorite for the US Open, with odds of +1000. His 2024 season has been difficult in stark comparison to recent years. He finished as the runner-up at both the Australian Open and Indian Wells and continues to search for his first title.
Three Americans in top 10 favorites for 2024 US Open crown
The American trio of Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, and Frances Tiafoe have surprisingly made their way into the top 10 favorites for the 2024 US Open men's singles title.
Shelton's impressive form this year, especially during the American hardcourt swing places him tied for fifth with Stefanos Tsitsipas, both with +2800 odds to win the US Open. Fritz, who has been in spectacular form all season with a 38-16 match record and titles at Delray Beach and Eastbourne, is tied for sixth with +3300 odds, alongside Matteo Berrettini.
Meanwhile, Frances Tiafoe's run to the final in Cincinnati last week places him as the seventh favorite with +4000 odds. A semi-finalist in the past, Tiafoe will be eager to go two steps further this time around. He sits tied with Holger Rune and Hubert Hurkacz.
Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud, Tommy Paul, and Sebastian Korda enter as eighth favorites with +5000 odds.
