US Open 2024: When does it start? When is the draw? How to watch? Everything to know about the season's final Major

The countdown for the US Open 2024 is on as the season's final Major is about to begin soon. Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff are the defending champions in singles. It has been a while since a successful title defence in New York.

Djokovic and Gauff will face stiff competition from their fellow peers, including Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The Serb hasn't competed since winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, while the American bowed out in the second round of the Cincinnati Open.

Roger Federer was the last man to defend the US Open when he claimed his fifth and final title here in 2008. Serena Williams was the last woman to do the same when she won her third straight title, and sixth overall, at the venue in 2014.

Rafael Nadal was initially set to participate but has decided against making a trip to New York this time. Former champions at the venue - Naomi Osaka, Bianca Andreescu, Dominic Thiem, and Stan Wawrinka, have all received a wildcard to compete this year.

The stage is set for the year's final Major, and here are all the basic details about this year's edition of the tournament:
