US Open Prize Money Breakdown: How much did 2024 champion Jannik Sinner and runner-up Taylor Fritz earn?

Jannik Sinner won the second Grand Slam of his career at the 2024 US Open, defeating Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in the final on Sunday, September 8. The Italian added the victory to his Australian Open triumph earlier in the year, where he defeated Daniil Medvedev to lift the trophy.

Sinner's victory in New York earned him a hefty $3,600,000 from the tournament’s record $75M prize pool, while Fritz took home $1,800,000. Frances Tiafoe and Jack Draper each received $1,000,000 after being eliminated in the semifinals.

Daniil Medvedev, Grigor Dimitrov, Alex de Minaur and Alexander Zverev each got $530,000 for their quarterfinal finish.

Meanwhile, players eliminated in the fourth round — including 14th seed Tommy Paul, 28th seed Alexei Popyrin, sixth seed Andrey Rublev, Brandon Nakashima, eighth seed Casper Ruud, Jordan Thompson, Tomas Machac and Nuno Borges — each took home $325,000.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic, home favorite Ben Shelton, Tallon Griekspoor, Jiri Lehecka, 16th seed Lorenzo Musetti, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Francisco Comesana, Shang Juncheng, 30th seed Matteo Arnaldi, Dan Evans, David Goffin, Botic van de Zandschulp, Jakub Mensik and 31st seed Flavio Cobolli, each earned $215,000 for their third-round finish.

Those knocked out in the second round, including third seed Carlos Alcaraz, 16th seed Sebastian Korda, seventh seed Hubert Hurkacz, Gael Monfils, Matteo Berrettini, and Alexander Shevchenko, received $140,000 each. Players who were sent home packing in the opening round, such as former US Open champion Dominic Thiem, Christopher Eubanks, Reilly Opelka, 15th seed Holger Rune, and 11th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, bagged $100,000 each.


Jordan Thompson and Max Purcell win US Open 2024 men's doubles title

The Australian duo of Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson won the US Open men's doubles title on Saturday, September 7, capturing their first Grand Slam together. They defeated the 10th-seeded German team of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz 6-4, 7-6(4) in the final. The winning pair received $750,000 while the runner-up took home $375,000.

Fourth seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic, along with 13th seeds and home favorites Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow, were eliminated in the semifinals and each pair got $190,000.

Meanwhile, top seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos, 11th seeds Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic, eighth seeds Neal Skupski and Michael Venus, as well as 16th seeds Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni, each bagged $110,000 after crashing out from the quarterfinals.

Players knocked out in the third and second rounds received $63,000 and $40,000, respectively, and those who exited in the first round took home $25,000.
