Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek will be the top seeds at US Open 2024
Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek will be the top seeds at US Open 2024. Both players had similar fates in 2023 as they exited the New York Major in the fourth round. While the former lost to Alexander Zverev, the latter was beaten by Jelena Ostapenko.
Both players have had impressive seasons so far, with Sinner notably winning the Australian Open, Miami Open and most recently the Cincinnati Open. Swiatek, meanwhile, triumphed at the French Open, the BNP Paribas Open, the Madrid Open and the Italian Open.
However, there are a lot of other players who are capable of challenging the two top seeds. In the men's corner, defending champion Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev are all formidable competitors, as are the likes of Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev.
In the women's section, Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula were the winners in the two WTA 1000 events in August, and they will definitely be ones to look out for at US Open 2024. The likes of defending champion Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Danielle Collins and Emma Navarro are also capable of making deep runs at Flushing Meadows.
