Venus Williams reveals Australian Open outfit she missed, how she remains focused on court, and more
Venus Williams recently participated in a Q&A on social media where she answered various questions from her fans about the Australian Open, her on-court focus, and more.
Williams was forced to withdraw from the Australian Open this year due to an undisclosed injury that she sustained during the Auckland Open at the start of the season. She reached as far as the Round of 16 of the tournament in New Zealand, where she lost to Zhu Lin in a three-set battle.
THe 42-year-old took to social media for a Q&A from her EleVen by Venus handle on social media. EleVen is Williams's own lifestyle brand that also designs her on-court looks. When asked what she missed the most about playing at the Australian Open, the 7-time Grand Slam champion lightheartedly replied that it was her outfit, while dropping the look of her coral pink pleated dress.
"My outfit!" she replied jokingly.
Another fan asked about what keeps her focused on-court when one section of the spectators cheers her on while the other boos. The American replied that she does not pay much attention to what others say and listens only to her own thoughts.
"For me, I'm in my head a lot, I don't hear a lot. Only my thoughts. The focus is intense!" she replied in the post.
When asked what her best memory from playing in Auckland was, Williams said that she enjoyed everything up until she got injured.
"Every single moment before I got hurt! It was a blast," she posted.
She often uses her EleVen by Venus handle for similar Q&As to interact with her fans.
