WATCH: Andy Roddick and wife Brooklyn Decker's son Hank & daughter Stevie make very rare appearance at Charlotte exhibition ft. Carlos Alcaraz
Andy Roddick and his wife, Brooklyn Decker, made a rare appearance with their children at the Charlotte Invitational exhibition event. The family enjoyed an evening out to watch Carlos Alcaraz, Frances Tiafoe, Sloane Stephens, and Madison Keys in action at the high-profile event.
Roddick tied the knot with American model and actress Brooklyn Decker in April 2009. They welcomed their son Hank in 2015, followed by their daughter Stevie in 2017. Despite being public figures, the couple has been very mindful of protecting their children's privacy, even choosing to obscure their faces in pictures on social media.
However, Andy Roddick and his wife, Brooklyn Decker, recently brought their children along to watch the blockbuster exhibition event in Charlotte, where Decker grew up. Hank and Stevie appeared in high spirits as they adorably waved to the camera after being spotted on the big screen at the Spectrum Center.
The family will have the exciting opportunity to watch a rematch of the 2017 US Open final between Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys, followed by a much-awaited clash between Frances Tiafoe and Carlos Alcaraz.
Andy Roddick also had the chance to spend some time with Alcaraz before the event, with the duo going head-to-head in a round of simulated golf. The Spaniard triumphed over the former World No. 1 with ease, with Roddick capturing the winning moment.
Andy Roddick: "Carlos Alcaraz does have the game that bothers Jannik Sinner more than anyone else on planet earth"
Andy Roddick will relish the opportunity to watch Carlos Alcaraz in action at the Charlotte Invitational, having recently lavished praise on the Spaniard's game. While the American acknowledged Jannik Sinner as the best hardcourt player in the world, he emphasized that Alcaraz had proven his excellence on grass and clay.
Roddick also highlighted that the 21-year-old's game presented the toughest challenge for Sinner, expressing his anticipation for many more exciting matchups between the duo in the coming years.
"He (Jannik Sinner) is the best player in the world when there is not something slippery under his feet, and I don't know it's up for question at this point. Clay is obviously very different, grass is very different. Carlos Alcaraz has risen on those things," he said on a recent episode of the 'Served with Andy Roddick' podcast.
"Carlos didn't play a full season, he was injured a bunch of the times, we are gonna go a lot more in those match ups over time. He does have the game that bothers Sinner more than anyone else on planet earth in this current moment," he added.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner locked horns in three tour-level encounters this season, with the Spaniard emerging victorious on all three occasions. However, the World No. 1 did triumph over Alcaraz in the final of the Six Kings Slam exhibition event.
