Aryna Sabalenka was all smiles while receiving a custom-made WWE championship belt following her 2024 US Open triumph. She defeated Jessica Pegula in the summit clash at Flushing Meadows.
Courtesy of her powerful groundstrokes and skill at the net, the World No. 2 triumphed over Pegula 7-5, 7-5 in a match lasting an hour and 52 minutes. Sabalenka claimed 18 points at the net and hit 40 winners. The victory also extended her head-to-head lead over Pegula to 6-2.
Following the win, Sabalenka featured in a champion's photoshoot wearing a stunning red gown with the US Open trophy. Much to her delight, she was later presented with a custom WWE championship belt, which she eagerly tried on.
"Oh my god this, wait, I hold it this way right?" Sabalenka said.
"This is I mean, Crazy! Oh my god this is unbelievable. I like it, so cool. Let me see it, sick. Thank you, I love it. I am gonna be wearing this one," she added.

The 2024 US Open was Sabalenka's third career Grand Slam title win. Additionally, with her victory at Flushing Meadows, she made 2024 the first year since 2014 without a first-time women's singles Major champion.

In her post-match on-court interview, Aryna Sabalenka reflected on her previous losses at Flushing Meadows and emphasized the importance of never giving up on one's dreams and persevering.
"You know everything I'm thinking, I remember all those stuff, losses in the past here and, and you know, just, it's gonna sound easy but never give up on your dream and just keep, keep trying, keep working hard," Sabalenka said.
She highlighted the importance of sacrifices and expressed pride in her accomplishments, adding:
"And, if you're really working hard and you're sacrificing everything for your dream, you're gonna get it one day. So I'm just, I'm just super proud of myself. I never say that. But really guys, I'm super proud of myself."
The 26-year-old dropped just one set during her US Open campaign, which came against No. 29 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in the third round.
Additionally, she became the fifth woman to win two hardcourt Majors (the Australian Open and the US Open) in a single season after Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis, and Angelique Kerber.
