Koltsov is a former professional ice hockey player from Belarus who played for close to 18 years. He hails from the same province as Sabalenka, Minsk. Koltsov also played for the NHL team Pittsburgh Penguins for three seasons. He also represented his native Belarus at the Winter Olympics in 2002 and 2010.
While it is unclear when exactly the couple began dating, they have been together for quite some time. The first Instagram image of the two together dates back to June 2021.
Sabalenka recently shared a video on her Instagram stories about her morning workout with her boyfriend and his son, Stefan. They were seen working out on an abs exercise while Stefan adorably crawled under the Belarusian's abdominal area.
"Morning routine," Sabalenka captioned her story.
Aryna Sabalenka says meeting her boyfriend was the best day of her life before winning the Australian Open 2023
Aryna Sabalenka won her first Grand Slam title in January when she defeated reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina in the 2023 Australian Open final. The 24-year-old later revealed in a post-match press conference that meeting her boyfriend was the best day of her life before lifting the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup.
"I think when I met my boyfriend. I think he's going to watch this interview, so (blowing kisses). You see, you wanted me to drink (laughter)," Sabalenka said.
The Belarussian then spoke about the final against Rybakina, saying it was the "best" match of her career and that she enjoyed the contest as the Kazakh gave her a tough fight by playing "unbelievable tennis."
"Yeah, I think it's really the best match, I would say it was. She played an unbelievable tennis. I fought so hard to win this one. I think tennis was great. I'm really happy that it wasn't easy match. I really enjoyed this battle," Sabalenka said.
Sabalenka is currently competing in the 2023 Miami Open after finishing runner-up in the BNP Paribas Open. The World No. 2 got past Shelby Rogers 6-4, 6-3 in the second round despite being hampered by what appeared to be a groin injury. She will next lock horns with Marie Bouzkova in the third round on Sunday (March 26).
