WATCH: Coco Gauff & Jessica Pegula strike hilarious poses, Danielle Collins twerks in fun 'attitude check' inspired by Simone Biles at Paris Olympics
The American women's tennis contingent, featuring Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Danielle Collins, Emma Navarro and Desirae Krawczyk, has arrived in Paris for the 2024 Olympics. The WTA stars wasted no time in commencing the fun festivities, filming a hilarious 'attitude check' video inspired by Simone Biles and the US women's gymnastics team.
After the American women's tennis players failed to secure a medal at the Tokyo Olympics, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Danielle Collins and Emma Navarro will aim to bring home the glory in the singles event as they battle it out at Roland Garros. Top seeds Gauff and Pegula will also vie for the women's doubles gold, alongside fourth seeds Collins and Krawczyk.
Upon their arrival in Paris, the US women's tennis stars gathered to show off their Olympic uniforms, posing for pictures together. They also took advantage of their time together to emulate Simone Biles and film their own 'attitude check,' which Coco Gauff shared on TikTok.
Gauff, Pegula, Navarro and Krawczyk showed off their posing skills in the hilarious clip, while Collins chose to twerk for the camera instead, leaving the World No. 2 in splits.
The WTA stars used the same audio from Biles' TikTok, where she filmed a similar 'attitude check' with the women's US gymnastics team in Paris.
Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Danielle Collins and Emma Navarro aiming to win USA's first women's singles gold since Serena Williams in 2012
Although the USA has historically enjoyed great success in tennis at the Olympics, no American woman has won a singles medal since Serena Williams, who clinched the gold at the 2012 London Olympics.
Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Danielle Collins and Emma Navarro will strive to end the drought with their campaigns at Roland Garros in this year's edition of the event.
Gauff, who trails only Iga Swiatek in the odds for the women's singles champion, has expressed her ambition to secure a medal in Paris on her Olympics debut, ranking the event at the same level as the Grand Slams.
"For me, the Olympics is a top priority. I would say equal to the Grand Slams. I wouldn't put it above or below just because I've never played before. This is my first time. Obviously, I always want to do well, try to get a medal," she said in a press conference at the 2024 Italian Open.
As the tennis events at the Paris Olympics are set to kick off on July 27, anticipation has built for the draw, which will be released on Thursday, July 25.
