Watch: Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev meet One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson ahead of their exhibition match in Mexico
Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev had the pleasure of meeting former One Direction singer and songwriter Louis Tomlinson prior to their highly anticipated exhibition match in Mexico.
Medvedev and Rublev are in Mexico to participate in Tennis Showdown, which is set to take place at the iconic Monumental Plaza de Toros Mexico. The event will feature a friendly duel between the two Russians.
The tennis players happened to be staying at the same hotel as the renowned singer. Prior to their highly anticipated exhibition match, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev met the talented musician. They shook hands and took pictures together.
The ATP shared a video of the meeting across their social media pages.
"When two worlds collide," the video was captioned.
Tomlinson is in Mexico for the highly anticipated premiere of his documentary, "All of Those Voices," directed by Charlie Lightening. The documentary is set to be released on March 22.
A tennis fan shared a photo on Twitter of Rublev and Tomlinson posing together.
"Omg he was so starstruck i'm crying," they captioned the post.

Following his defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in the Indian Wells final on Sunday, Daniil Medvedev stated that he is in a good state, mentally and physically. The former World No. 1 added that he was looking forward to the clay season but not before giving it his best shot at the upcoming Miami Open.
"I'm feeling great right now at this part of the season, mentally, physically, honestly, in my tennis. So I'm looking forward, for sure, for clay season but first I want to try to do well in Miami where it's still hard courts even if maybe it will be very slow," Medvedev said in his post-match press conference..
Medvedev secured back-to-back quarterfinal finishes at the Miami Open in 2021 and 2022, his best results in the tournament. In 2022, he was defeated by Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets.
The men's singles tournament in Miami will commence on March 22. Although the Masters 1000 event will miss the likes of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, most of the other top players on the ATP tour will grace the tournament
