WATCH: Daniil Medvedev's daughter Alisa adorably shows off skills on a kick scooter as mother Daria cheers her on during family outing to the park
Daniil Medvedev recently enjoyed a family outing to the park with his wife Daria and baby daughter Alisa. The toddler adorably showed off her skills on a kick scooter while her parents cheered her on in the background.
Following his run to the semifinals of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, Medvedev is spending some quality time with his family before heading off for his campaign at the Paris Olympics, commencing on July 26. The 28-year-old has entered the prestigious event as the fifth seed, in pursuit of his maiden Olympic medal.
Unwinding with his family in Monaco, Daniil Medvedev recently visited a park with his wife Daria and daughter Alisa. Daria shared a glimpse of their charming outing on social media, cheering Alisa on as she rode a kick scooter.
Medvedev will soon return to Roland Garros for the Olympics, aiming for a better result than his fourth-round finish at the 2024 French Open. Despite the quick turnaround between surfaces and the looming North American hardcourt swing, the World No. 5 disclosed that it was a "very easy" decision to compete at the global sporting event.
"Very easy decision. In Tokyo, I loved the atmosphere. I loved being there, playing there. It's going to be even different than Paris because Tokyo was [during] COVID, so no people. It was a little like a closed atmosphere, and I loved it. I'm sure it's going to be even more fun in Paris," Daniil Medvedev said in a Wimbledon press conference.
Although the Russian conceded that gearing up for the hardcourt season would likely be more beneficial for his career, he emphasized that the chance to say that he competed in three editions of the Olympics would bring him joy and satisfaction.
"I know that if I'm thinking strictly about my personal career, [it would be ] better to go to Canada, prepare for hardcourts, etc. But when I'm 40, if I can say I played in the Tokyo Olympics, Paris Olympics, Los Angeles Olympics, I had a lot of fun in my life, my career, I'm gonna be happy," he added.
"I'm there less than my wife, I think my daughter feels it" - Daniil Medvedev on not being able to spend enough time with Alisa
In an appearance on the Tennis Channel during his French Open campaign, Daniil Medvedev admitted that he hasn't had the opportunity to learn much from his daughter Alisa because he doesn't get to see her as often as he would like.
"Let's be honest, when you're a tennis player, you can talk as much as you want about kids, you don't see them that often. You travel around the world so it's more my wife that tries to teach her things and maybe our daughter teaches her patience," Daniil Medvedev said.
The World No. 5 also expressed his belief that his daughter can feel his absence, leading to her being less expressive around him while being more open with her emotions when she is with his wife Daria.
"Me, I'm there less than my wife so I think my daughter feels it. So, with me she is, when we're together, she's not having too much of a character, she's just going by the flow," Medvedev said.
"And I like to make jokes with my wife, 'You told me she was screaming earlier but she's fine.' It is what it is. I try to spend as much time as possible with her and it's a fun time," he added.
Despite their limited time together, Daniil Medvedev proudly revealed that Alisa has inherited his strong personality, particularly her independence and reluctance to accept help from others.
