WATCH: Daniil Medvedev's daughter Alisa calls out to "papa" after spotting his ATP Finals poster, amuses mother Daria as she recreates adorable scene
Daniil Medvedev's daughter Alisa had an adorably excited reaction to spotting the Russian on a poster at the 2024 ATP Finals. Medvedev's wife Daria captured the two-year-old's response, which brought back memories of the toddler's reaction to the 28-year-old's poster from a year ago.
Medvedev has arrived in Turin for the year-end championships, joining Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, and the other stars for the trophy photoshoot recently. The Russian has been drawn into the Ilie Nastase Group, set to battle it out against Sinner, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur for a spot in the semifinals of the prestigious event.
Daniil Medvedev's wife Daria and daughter Alisa have joined him in Turin to show their support during his campaign. The pair recently toured the ATP Finals facilities, where the two-year-old had a delightful reaction to spotting the World No. 4 on a poster. Alisa adorably called out to her "papa" and excitedly pointed him out to her mother.
Daria could be heard laughing in the background as Alisa's surprise mirrored her reaction from last year's ATP Finals. The toddler had been stunned by spotting her father on a poster, hilariously stopping in her tracks as she tried to make sense of the sight.
Daniil Medvedev will be glad to have his wife Daria and daughter Alisa cheering him on as he squares off against Taylor Fritz in his opening match on November 10. The Russian is on the hunt for his second ATP Finals title, having previously emerged victorious at the 2020 edition of the year-end championships.
Daniil Medvedev on daughter Alisa inheriting his 'character' - "If something doesn’t go her way, then she throws a toy in anger or bites it"
During a recent interview with Tennis.com, Daniil Medvedev shed light on his daughter Alisa's behavior, disclosing that she tended to take out her anger on her toys whenever things didn't go her way. The Russian hilariously admitted that while his wife Daria was perplexed by the two-year-old's conduct, he questioned whether it was just genetics, given his on-court outbursts.
"If something doesn’t go her way, then she throws a toy in anger or bites it. My wife is looking at me saying, ‘Okay, where does it come from?’ And that’s pretty funny because you start asking yourself if it’s just pure genetics and I don’t have an answer to this question," Daniil Medvedev said.
Medvedev also shared that Alisa had inherited his "character" when it came to needing assistance, revealing that she wouldn't accept help from anyone until she decided it was necessary.
"Many times I need help from my coaches, from family. They can say whatever they want, but until I decide what I need, it’s not going to work. And it’s the same with her. I can repeat 10 times, 'Alisa, let me help you with a car. It doesn’t go, so you need to turn it on.' She won’t let you, until she decides that she wants your help. Yeah, my character," he added.
Daniil Medvedev also opened up about his desire to ensure that his daughter Alisa grew up as a "happy person," disclosing that he was investing time in reading books on fatherhood to be the best dad to her.
