WATCH: Earthquake hits Indian Wells in 2013, leaves tennis broadcaster Brett Haber and others stunned midway through show

The 2023 Indian Wells is currently underway with the quarterfinals scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 15.

Tennis Channel took the opportunity to share a memorable old video of Indian Wells 2013 from their archives on social media. The clip features commentator Brett Haber and journalist Neil Harman reacting to an earthquake mid-broadcast.

"Haber be quaking," they captioned the post.

The clip begins with Harman commenting on the a match when the ground beneath them starts shaking, sways the set for a couple of seconds. Haber appears stunned while Harman continues, unfazed.

Haber then puts on a straightface and hilariously responds by telling his fellow broadcaster that his comments were "so powerful" they caused an earthquake.

"I just have to interrupt you because those comments were so powerful Neil, we actually just endured an earthquake here," Brett Haber joked.

As Harman laughed, Haber continued:

"Literally, your journalism is earth-shattering," he added lightheartedly.

The tournament is currently in full swing with Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz, Jannik Sinner, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Cameron Norrie and Francis Tiafoe booking their spots in the quarterfinals.

Both the men's and women's defending champions at Indian Wells 2023, Taylor Fritz and Iga Swiatek, have sealed their spots in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Last year, Taylor Fritz lifted the cup after defeating the then fourth seed Rafael Nadal. It was the American's second title win at the time. Fritz will come into this year's quarterfinals with a straight-sets victory over Hungarian MΓ‘rton Fucsovics.

In a post-match interview, the World No. 5 expressed his love for the tournament.

β€œI feel like it just that energy around this week, playing my home tournament. It is slower conditions, but it gives me a lot of time to be able to set up and usually just play attacking tennis,” Fritz said. β€œI really couldn’t tell you a specific reason why I do so well here, probably just the whole feeling around it.”

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek won the title last year against the then sixth seed Maria Sakkari. It was the Pole's second title win of 2020 in a dream run of four titles and two Grand Slams. She will come into this year's quarterfinals after a convincing 6-3, 6-1 victory over Emma Raducanu.

In an interview after her win, the reigning French Open champion spoke about the nuances of the conditions at the tournament.

"I always want to finish [points] as fast as possible if I have a chance, but for sure I know that sometimes it's not going to be possible here," Swiatek said. "I'm pretty sure that some of these shots would be winners in different conditions, but here the ball is bouncing and it's slower."

Swiatek will square off against Sorana Cirstea, while Fritz will face Jannik Sinner next in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
