WATCH: Emma Raducanu "starts her engines" after Hong Kong Open withdrawal; shares highlights of her downtime in London

Emma Raducanu recently shared some glimpses from her downtime in London after she withdrew her name from the Hong Kong Open. The British player was last in competition at the Korean Open, where she sustained a foot injury.

Raducanu has been away from the court since her quarterfinal match against Daria Kasatkina at the Korean Open on September 21. The 21-year-old had to retire early from the match as she sustained an injury in her left foot. She took a medical timeout which eventually turned into a walkover, and the Russian won the match 6-1.

Following this, Raducanu withdrew from the China Open, sharing a statement about the injury, and said she would be back as soon as possible. After this withdrawal, she pulled out of the Hong Kong Open, which is scheduled to take place from October 28 - November 3 at Victoria Park, Hong Kong.

Days after this withdrawal, Emma Raducanu shared a video on her Instagram account, which showed some glimpses of her time in London. The video had a few clips of her practicing tennis on the court, some scenic views of London, some clips of her spending quality time with her family, and her workout sessions at the gym.

The post's caption read:

Emma Raducanu spoke about the lessons she learned after her injury

Emma Raducanu opened up about the lessons she learned after sustaining an injury to her left foot during the Korea Open in an interview with Women's Health. She said she realizes what "non-attachment" means and also the value of every passing moment. She said (via The DailyMail)

"There has been a lot of volatility over the past three years. And I think the most I’ve come into myself has been in the last few weeks. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is non-attachment; acknowledging that everything comes and goes. Every moment is fleeting, and how you interact with the present dictates how you feel, the quality of your work, the quality of your relationships, and how much the people around you enjoy being with you."

She further spoke about "accepting things," taking her time after injury as an example.

"I've taught myself not to label things as black or white. For example, with this injury, I’m trying to catch myself and stop labelling it as like, “Oh, I’m so unlucky, this is so bad.” I’ve learnt to accept things and reframe them. I’m not completely unable to exercise, so I’ll still do things like yoga or Pilates – low-impact exercise, so I’m focusing on that. I’ve matured a lot in the last few weeks, to be honest."

Emma Raducanu had some good performances this year amid her injury problems. She advanced to the semifinals of the Nottingham Open, along with the quarterfinals of the Eastbourne International and the Citi Open.
