Frances Tiafoe recently had the opportunity to throw the ceremonial first pitch at Washington National Stadium ahead of the game between the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals. Tiafoe's girlfriend and Canadian tennis player Ayan Broomfield also accompanied him and later shared highlights from their outing.
Tiafoe had an impressive North American hard-court swing recently. Apart from his early exit at the Canadian Open, he reached the semifinals at the Citi Open, advanced to the final at the Cincinnati Open, and later reached the semifinals at the 2024 US Open.
The 26-year-old recently attended the MLB game between the Washington Nationals and the Miami Marlins. Before the series opener, he got the opportunity to throw the ceremonial first pitch to the Nationals' Nazim Nunez. Tiafoe appeared delighted on the field and was also pictured with Nunez. The Marlins eventually secured a 6-3 win over the Nationals.

Tiafoe's girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, who joined him at the game, shared highlights of their outing on Instagram. The clips showcased Tiafoe while preparing for his first pitch and playing table tennis in the Nationals' locker room.

Tiafoe and Broomfield made their relationship official in 2018, and Broomfield is frequently seen in the stands cheering the American on.

Ayan Broomfield lauded Frances Tiafoe for an impressive campaign at the 2024 US Open. 20th-seeded Tiafoe, defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic, Alexander Shevchenko (walkover), Ben Shelton, Alexei Popyrin, and ninth seed Grigor Dimitrov (walkover) to advance to the last four of the New York Major.
The World No. 16 fought hard against compatriot Taylor Fritz in the All-American semifinal clash. Tiafoe won the first set 6-4, but Fritz responded by taking the second set 7-5. Tiafoe regained the lead with a 6-4 win in the third set, but Fritz came back to win the fourth and fifth sets 6-4, 6-1, respectively, and advanced to the final.
Broomfield took to Instagram to celebrate her partner's impressive run at Flushing Meadows.
"What a tournament, proud of you," she wrote in her Instagram story.
She shared another photo in her Instagram story of them kissing, with the caption that read
"Forever your biggest fan."
This was Tiafoe's second US Open semifinal run, having previously made it in 2022, where he lost to eventual winner, Carlos Alcaraz.
