Watch: Frances Tiafoe, JJ Wolf and others turn poets in new Dallas Open promotional video

The Dallas Open 2023 is currently underway at the Altec Tennis Complex, where the likes of Frances Tiafoe and Jeffrey John Wolf have progressed to the quarterfinals.

Taking the creative route for their latest promotional video, the tournament organizers had the players read out a line each from a poem dedicated to the game, ending with a verse for the Dallas Open.

The video, which was shared on social media, was captioned:

"Our players are poets and they didn't even know it," read the caption.

The video opens with John Isner and Taylor Fritz reciting the first couple of lines:

"Wimbledon the green and pristine grass, Roland Garros with clay courts so vast," they said.

It continues with Frances Tiafoe, JJ Wolf, Dennis Shapovalov, Riley Opelka and others reading the poem further.

"The Happy Slam in the land down under, the USO with crowds that never slumber. The Indian Wells in the desert so bright, Miami at the Hard Rock, we fight. Madrid with red clay is as fine as wine, all are great tournaments but none so divine," they continued.

Makenzie McDonald is the only player smiling, apparently in the spirit of the humor that the video is intended for, among his straight-faced peers. His compatriot Steve Johnson closed the video with a final verse for the Dallas Open.

"As for the very best tournament one must look elsewhere, where the patrons are loud and the tennis so fair. With a court so true and the spirit so infectious, it's the Dallas Open in Dallas, Texas," they concluded.

The Dallas Open 2023 has five quarterfinal spots remaining, with the rest of the second-round matches set to take place on Thursday, February 9.

Americans Frances Tiafoe and JJ Wolf will square off against each other in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Dallas Open.

This is Fritz's first outing since his second-round exit at the Australian Open. Being the second seed in the tournament, he received a first-round bye and will come into the match on the back of a convincing 6-1, 6-3 win over compatriot Mackenzie McDonald in the second round.

It was the World No. 14's eighth win in his last nine previous matches and is likely to add to his confidence ahead of the clash with Wolf.
