WATCH: Nick Kyrgios trolls Tony Jones after Novak Djokovic fiasco at Australian Open with satire video

Nick Kyrgios has once again taken to social media to troll Australian television presenter Tony Jones. Jones found himself in hot water after an on-air exchange with Novak Djokovic fans singing their hero's name, loudly responding: 'Novak, he's overrated ... Novak's a has-been. Novak, kick him out.'

The incident escalated to the extent that the 24-time Grand Slam winner and his team made known their displeasure at Jone's words, with the TV personality later issuing an on-air apology.

Not one to be left out where controversy is concerned, Kyrgios enlisted the help of friend Elliot Loney, billed as Australia's most watched and streamed impressionist and comedian, to pitch in.

The pair took to Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) on January 20, to lampoon their fellow countryman with a short skit, in which Loney gives a fair impression of Djokovic as the pair parody Jones' remarks:

Kyrgios: "This is what's making headlines across the globe. Nick Krgios - live news."
Loney: "Kyrgios is a has-been. Kyrgios is overrated. Kyrgios - kick him out, ha ha!. Boy, I'm glad you cannot hear me, You know because that would be..."
Kyrgios: "Novak, we're on live television mate."
Loney: "Yeah, yeah, of course. Who would be stupid enough to say that on live television, haha!."
NK: "Yeah. No-one."

Nick Kyrgios had already weighed in on the affair in an earlier post, defending Djokovic and calling Jones a 'clown' for his controversial comments. The experienced broadcaster received quite a backlash, following which he appeared on Australia's Today Show to try and clarify his remarks, which he described as "banter".

Jones did, however, acknowledge Djokovic's camp's unhappiness at his words, and offered a full apology.

"I considered it to be humour, which is consistent with most things I do, whether it be the Sunday Footy Show or whether it be the Morning Show here. Having said that, I was made aware on the Saturday morning from Tennis Australia via the Djokovic camp that the Djokovic camp was not happy at all with those comments. 'Now, as such, I immediately contacted the Djokovic camp and issued an apology to them.

Jones' apology came after Djokovic's refusal of Channel 9's on-court interview after his match against Jiri Lehecka. The Serb made it clear in his press conference that doing so was in response to Jones' remarks, and that he would continue to refuse until a public apology was made.

Having accepted Jones' apology, the 10-time Australian Open winner moves into a blockbuster quarterfinal match with Carlos Alcaraz on Tuesday, January 21.
