Novak Djokovic recently walked out with a golden kit bag for a practice session at the 2024 US Open in honor of his gold medal win at the Paris Olympics. Fans in the stands erupted in cheers upon noticing his eye-catching accessory.
Djokovic was the top seed at the 2024 Olympic Games. He defeated Matthew Ebden and Rafael Nadal in the first two rounds before triumphing over Dominik Koepfer, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Lorenzo Musetti to secure a spot in the championship match.
In the final, the former World No. 1 defeated Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(3), 7-6(2) to secure his second Olympic medal. The Serb's first was a bronze that came at the 2008 Beijing Olympics when he defeated James Blake.
With this gold medal win, the 24-time Grand Slam champion also became only the fifth player to achieve the Career Golden Slam (winning all four Grand Slams and an Olympic gold medal in singles) after Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi, Rafael Nadal, and Serena Williams.
Novak Djokovic, who is in New York to compete at the 2024 US Open, recently carried a golden kit bag to a pre-tournament practice session in honor of his gold medal win at the Olympics. The fans in attendance at the practice session welcomed him with resounding cheers.

Novak Djokovic will face Radu Albot in US Open 2024 1R
Novak Djokovic will take on Moldovan qualifier Radu Albot in the first round of the 2024 US Open.
The former World No. 1 is seeded second at the New York Slam and will begin his campaign on the back of his gold medal win at the Paris Olympics. He skipped both the 2024 Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open ahead of the New York Major.
Meanwhile, Albot secured his place in the main draw by winning his matches in the qualifying rounds. He defeated Javier Barranco Cosano 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 in the first qualifying round, followed by a 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 victory over Luca Van Assche in the second round. The 34-year-old ultimately sealed his spot in the main draw with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 win against Shintaro Mochizuki.
Novak Djokovic and Radu Albot have never met on the ATP Tour. Their first-round match at the 2024 US Open will be their first match-up against each other. The winner will advance to play one of Laslo Djere and Jan-Lennard Struff in the second round.
