WATCH: Novak Djokovic shows off his viola skills as he and wife Jelena celebrate Paris Olympics 2024 gold medal win

Novak Djokovic is celebrating his Paris Olympics gold medal in Croatia with his wife Jelena. In honor of his triumph, a pair of musicians planned an 'impromptu concert' for the Serbian tennis star and he also tried his hands at the viola.

In a celebratory mood, Djokovic is visiting the island of Vrnik, near Korčula, in the south of Croatia with his wife. At a church, musician pair of Julian Rachlin and Sarah McElravy organized an 'impromptu concert' to commemorate the tennis icon's triumph in Paris.

With some guidance, Djokovic also tried his hand at McElravy’s 1785 Lorenzo Storioni viola. A video of the Serb playing the strings along with Rachlin was posted by the latter on his Instagram. He captioned the reel:

"What an epic night! 🎉🎻 Last night, Sarah McElravy @saritaexplores and I played an impromptu concert for the amazing @djokernole to celebrate his Olympic gold medal! 🥇" he wrote.
"And guess what? Novak grabbed Sarah’s viola and ended up playing a little duet with me! Who knew he had such talent? 😂🎶 Could we be witnessing the future of Novak Djokovic as a world-class VIOLIST?" Rachlin asked jokingly.

In his fifth attempt at the Olympics, Djokovic was able to go the distance and win the elusive singles gold medal. He had reached the semifinal thrice in his previous four attempts but lost on all three occasions. His best finish at an Olympics was a bronze medal.

However, at 37, Novak Djokovic had made it his mission to win gold. He accomplished it by getting the better of Spain's Carlos Alcaraz in the final at the Court Philippe-Chatrier.

After his win over Alexei Popyrin in the third round at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, Novak Djokovic played an imaginary violin using his racquet as a celebration.

Later, at a press conference, he revealed that the celebration was for his daughter Tara.

“That was for Tara. My [daughter] has been playing violin for some time already, six months, and we agreed that I would celebrate that way," the Serb said.

He mentioned that athletes like Usain Bolt and Cristiano Ronaldo have signature celebrations. Djokovic also expressed an interest in how celebrations transcend across different sports.

"[Jude] Bellingham, he simply spreads his arms, [Carlos] Alcaraz did that, I did that at Roland Garros... It's interesting and fun that we can take it from other sports, combine sports, it travels quickly through networks. Everyone has their own thing, I changed it, it depends on the moment and feelings, now I have a violin" he added.

Notably, Djokovic did the 'violin' celebration for Tara multiple times at Wimbledon and also at the Paris Olympics.
