WATCH: Rafael Nadal trains for the first time at Roland Garros after arriving in Paris for Olympics 2024
Rafael Nadal was recently spotted on Court Philippe-Chatrier practicing a series of backhands ahead of his participation in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. This will be Nadal's third appearance in the marquee event.
Nadal was recently in action at the Nordea Open in Bastad in the lead-up to the Olympics. The Spaniard reached the finals at the Nordea Open but lost to Nuno Borges 3-6, 2-6.
The 22-time Major champion also teamed up with Casper Ruud in the doubles at the tournament but withdrew in the semifinal as it was scheduled just hours after his singles semifinal match on July 20. Nadal later said during the press conference that he was prioritizing the singles final at the ATP 250 event and hence withdrew from the doubles match.
The 38-year-old recently arrived in Paris and was spotted gearing up for the marquee event with a training session on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Tennis at the Summer Games will be played on the clay courts of Roland Garros.

Rafael Nadal is looking forward to representing Spain at the Paris Olympics 2024
In the press conference after the summit clash at the Nordea Open, Rafael Nadal stated that he was looking forward to representing his country at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
"I'm really looking forward to being part of the Olympic team and representing Spain. This is the most important event in sport, I hope I can find the energy I need and do good training," Nadal said (via Punto de Break).
Nadal stated that he hopes to perform well in the singles competition and carry a similar run of form in the doubles as well. The 38-year-old added that he plans to analyze his recent matches and will train with Carlos Alcaraz this week.
"I know that if I can play good tennis on an individual level, I'll do well in doubles too, but I have to analyze what happened this week and work hard. I'm convinced that Carlos Alcaraz will be at a great level because he's coming in with confidence. We'll train together this week," he added.
Alcaraz will appear at the Paris Olympics after securing two consecutive Major titles this year, the French Open and Wimbledon. Spain's men's tennis team captain David Ferrer announced last month that the 21-year-old will play doubles with Nadal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
