"Were they drinking vodka on the changeovers?"- Fans amused by Novak Djokovic & Grigor Dimitrov doing a striptease during exhibition match in Bulgaria

Tennis fans were entertained by Novak Djokovic and Grigor Dimitrov's comical striptease during an exhibition match in Sofia, Bulgaria. On Tuesday, September 17, both players took part in the 'Postbank Visa Tennis Gala' exhibition match.

Before arriving in Sofia, Djokovic had participated in the 2024 Davis Cup, where he contributed to Serbia's victory over Greece. Meanwhile, Dimitrov competed in the 2024 US Open, where he reached the quarterfinals before withdrawing in the fourth set due to a leg injury.

The Serb traveled to Bulgaria to compete in the Postbank Visa Tennis Gala exhibition match. He faced off Grigor Dimitrov, who defeated Djokovic 6-4 2-6 [10-6].

During a changeover, the former World No.1 amused the crowd by performing a comical striptease while changing his shirt. He then encouraged Dimitrov to join in, who obliged, much to the delight of the spectators.

Fans took to social media to express their amusement at the duo's hilarious striptease, with one fan jokingly speculating that Novak Djokovic and Grigor Dimitrov had indulged in vodka during the break which had left them intoxicated, leading to their impromptu performance.

"Were they drinking vodka on the changeovers or something??" the fan wrote.

Another fan jokingly said that the striptease had made it difficult for them to take the players seriously.

"I can’t take them seriously πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ ," the fan wrote.
"This is exactly what I envision from a Grigor-hosted exho," a fan claimed.

Many praised the Serb for being entertaining, while one fan also suggested that his recent Olympic gold medal had transformed him into a captivating showman.

Novak Djokovic will compete at Shanghai Masters 2024 after this exhibition match in Bulgaria

Following his participation in the exhibition match in Sofia, Bulgaria, Novak Djokovic will next compete at the 2024 Shanghai Masters. He has a remarkable track record at this tournament, having won it a record four times in the past - in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2018

In 2018, Djokovic entered the ATP Masters 1000 hard court tournament as the second seed. He kicked off his campaign in the second round following a first-round bye, securing a solid victory over Jeremy Chardy with a score of 6-3, 7-5. The former World No.1 then triumphed over 16th seed Marco Cecchinato 6-4, 6-0 in the third round.

In the quarterfinals, the 24-time Grand Slam champion overcame seventh seed Kevin Anderson and then breezed past fourth seed Alexander Zverev in the semifinals before defeating 13th seed Borna Coric to clinch the 2018 Shanghai Masters title, which was his 32nd ATP Masters 1000 title.

Novak Djokovic is returning to the Shanghai Masters after five years, having not played in the tournament since 2019. He will compete against the likes of Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Alexander Zverev among others.
